I was charged for duplicate records. How can I avoid this in the future?

Updated over a year ago

When you submit a list for skip tracing with SkipMatrix, our system processes each record in your list. This includes records that might appear more than once, known as duplicates. Being charged for duplicate records can be frustrating, but it's a situation that can be easily avoided with a little preparation.

Before sending your list to SkipMatrix, it's essential to review it for any duplicate entries. Removing these duplicates not only reduces your overall costs but also ensures a more streamlined and efficient processing of your order.

There are several ways to identify and remove duplicate records from your list:

Manual Review

While this method can be time-consuming for large lists, manually reviewing your list is the most straightforward approach. Look for entries that appear more than once and remove the duplicates.

Use Spreadsheet Software

Programs like Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets offer features that can identify and remove duplicates. For instance, in Excel, you can use the 'Remove Duplicates' feature found under the 'Data' tab.

Third-party Tools

There are many online tools and software applications specifically designed to detect and remove duplicate entries from lists. Depending on the size of your list and your specific needs, you might consider investing in one of these tools.

By ensuring your list is free of duplicate entries before submission, you can avoid unnecessary charges and make the most of your skip-tracing order. Remember, a clean, well-organized list is the first step towards achieving the best possible results from your skip-tracing efforts.
