I'm having trouble uploading my CSV file. What should I do?

Updated over a year ago

Uploading a CSV file to SkipMatrix should be a smooth process, but sometimes issues can arise. Here's a step-by-step guide to help you troubleshoot:

  1. Check the File Format: Ensure that your file is saved in the proper .csv format. Simply changing the file extension by adding ".csv" to the end of a file name won't convert it to a true CSV format. To save a file as a CSV, open it in a spreadsheet program like Excel or Google Sheets and choose the "Save As" or "Export" option, then select the CSV format from the list of available formats.

  2. Inspect File Size: There might be a size limit for the files you can upload. If your file is unusually large, consider splitting it into smaller chunks and uploading them separately.

  3. Examine File Contents: Make sure your CSV doesn't contain any special characters or formatting that might be causing the upload to fail. A simple way to do this is by opening it with a plain text editor and looking for any irregularities.

  4. Browser Issues: Sometimes, the issue can be browser-specific. Try uploading the file using a different browser or clearing your current browser's cache and cookies.

  5. Internet Connection: Ensure you have a stable internet connection. Interruptions can cause uploads to fail.

  6. Platform Maintenance: Occasionally, SkipMatrix might be undergoing maintenance or facing server issues. If you've tried the above steps and are still facing issues, this could be the reason.
